The Garden Route which stretches along the coast from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth is understandably one of South Africa’s most popular journeys. It is easy to self-drive and incredibly beautiful as you make your way to De Hoop Nature Reserve where whale watching is superb from July to November. Move on from there and you can visit the tranquil town of Knysna which is on the shores of a peaceful estuary.
Finally making your way up to Plettenberg Bay which is buzzing with restaurants and quirky bars and beautiful golden beaches. There is plenty to here such as mountain- biking, riding, golf, as well as exploring the Tsitsikamma Forest and it’s magnificent untouched beaches.
