Alms Giving, Luang Prabang

Rise early to witness and join Luang Prabang locals as they make offerings of food in the alms bowls of saffron-clad monks. This silent and sacred tradition of ‘Tak Bat’ takes place every morning and is a chance to experience the serenity and symbolism of Laos’ religious and cultural heritage. Watch as the monks form a procession through the town, with locals sitting or kneeling to offer rice and vegetables in the hope of gaining merit for their next life.
