Best Time to Visit

Why We Love Spain

TAPAS & PINTXOS

Ordering tapas is the perfect way to sample everything on the menu and the best way to live like a local. Tapas culture means visiting any number of eateries in one evening and it will never be frowned upon. Wander from bar to bar ordering the restaurant’s special until you simply can’t eat anymore, whilst washing it down with some delicious local sangria.

CITY BREAKS

With such a colourful past, it is little wonder why Spanish cities are so extraordinary. Architecturally staggering, cathedrals and Alcazars dot the skylines of Spanish towns and cities. The coastal cities of Barcelona and San Sebastian are suited for mornings exploring old quarters, and afternoons swimming in the sea. Inland, Madrid and Seville are both worthy destinations to whittle away a couple of days in the sun, offering outstanding gardens and plenty of dazzling rooftop terraces for evening sundowners.

ISLAND HOPPING

Often overlooked by Greek island competition, the Balearics, and even the Canaries, offer all the perks of island life and year-round sun. The hotspots within this archipelago include Ibiza, Formentera, Menorca and Mallorca where walkable towns and ports are buzzing with life, an array of warm pristine beaches promise peace or party, and secluded spots act as a hideaway from the crowds. Spend an entire week exploring one or split your time up amongst a couple on an island-hopping adventure.

300 DAYS OF SUN

For those of you who are sun worshippers, Spain is the best place to be for predictable weather as the country boasts 300 days of sunshine and blue skies. This is ideal for visitors wanting to holiday outside of peak summer weeks, with the hot month of August arguably best avoided.

The Johnsons

I thought we were asking for the impossible, but Molly delivered an amazing Spanish adventure, covering three cities seamlessly. Everything was exactly at the right pace for us to take in the sites without feeling rushed, and plenty of time to sample the tapas!
