Mowani Mountain Camp offers luxurious tented accommodation with breathtaking desert views. The tents feature open-air en-suite bathrooms and private decks providing magnificent vistas of Damaraland and the nearby Twyfelfontein, renowned for its engravings and paintings, as well as the elusive desert-adapted elephants. The camp is dedicated to sustainable eco-tourism and community upliftment, actively protecting the roaming grounds of the black rhino and desert elephants in the Twyfelfontein conservancy.

Local guides, hailing from the tribes in the area, lead exhilarating daytime game drives to track mountain zebra, kudu, springbok, klipspringer, and if you’re lucky, even the elusive leopard! At Mowani, the spirit of adventure is alive, and each day is filled with exciting activities such as game drives, hot air balloon trips over the Aba-Huab Valley, and memorable champagne breakfasts and al fresco meals under the dusky landscape, surrounded by Mopani trees.

The Pitchers

We had the most amazing time! John Barclay and his team were very special and the mobile safari exclusive and superb. Moremi was very quiet with few other tourists – no more than a dozen other vehicles seen in four days. Macatoo was also excellent with good riding and game. We were so grateful for the help that you offered when our BA flights went wrong. Many thanks again for the superb service and recommendations which made for a great holiday.
