Visit Upper Zambezi River
The Zambezi is the fourth-longest river in Africa, running through 6 countries. It is the longest east flowing river in Africa and the largest flowing into the Indian Ocean from Africa. The River’s beauty has attracted tourists from all over the world providing opportunities for a myriad of water sports and game viewing. Lodges on both sides of the border offer wildlife drives, guided hikes and fishing expeditions. Where else can you canoe down a wide, placid river one day and the next raft through the raging rapids near world-famous Victoria Falls?
These example itineraries are here to get you inspired, but no two True Travel holidays are the same. Our Zambia experts start planning each trip with a blank piece of paper, designing every itinerary 100% personalised to you.
Will Greenwood
The team at True Travel had a simple brief: to send us on the world’s best family safari. As soon as our boat headed down the Zambezi, it all kicked off; we passed a herd of hippos, a lazy crocodile and a giraffe drinking nonchalantly on the riverbank. A magical experience from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble and if we had any issue that needed resolving, there was always someone on hand to do this. Before and after, they were off the charts – simply an awesome team.
