Day 1-4
MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK, Zimbabwe
A national park known for its abundance of wildlife, animal sightings along the Zambezi River are extremely common.
Fly into Zimbabwe and connect with a domestic flight to Mana Pools National Park. Here you’ll spend three nights at Nyamatusi Camp, perched on the banks of the Zambezi. Whilst in one of the wildest and most remote parts of Africa, this lodge offers an authentic experience in a corner of Africa that remains relatively untouched. On game drives, watch the drama of the bush unfold before you, with the chance to spot zebra, kudu and eland. Head out on a bushwalk, following your guide along wildlife tracks, and canoe down the Zambezi to see elephants bathing in the river.
Day 4-7
LAKE KARIBA, Zimbabwe
The world’s largest man-made lake, Lake Kariba is known for its stunning red sunsets which make for great sunset cruising.
Fly to Kariba where you’ll spend three nights at Bumi Hills Lodge. Set amongst the hills, this lodge boasts the perfect view of Lake Kariba and the rich wildlife that line its shores. Wake up to the sound of birds chirping and splashing in the lake, and go to sleep with the vista of a fiery Zimbabwean sunset over the very same lake. Spend time fishing on the lake as you try to catch tigerfish, considered one of the most exciting gamefish. For incredible wildlife sightings, head out with a private vehicle to spot any of the resident lions.
Day 7
VICTORIA FALLS, Zimbabwe
Known as ‘The ‘Smoke That Thunders’, Victoria Falls is one of the world’s most impressive waterfalls.
On your journey from Lake Kariba, you’ll take a flight to Victoria Falls where you’ll stop off for an afternoon tour of the Zimbabwean side. Considered the best side to see the falls, Zimbabwe offers sixteen different viewpoints to see this incredible waterfall, bisecting the rainforest for twice as much viewing. Before continuing on to the Upper Zambezi River, stop for a break in the little town of Victoria Falls, full of vibrant cafes and the chance to enjoy High Tea.
Day 7-10
UPPER ZAMBEZI RIVER, Zambia
The Thorntree River Lodge is in the perfect location to both explore the majestic Victoria Falls and the plains and wildlife of Zambia.
From Victoria Falls you’ll be transferred to Zambia for three nights at Tongabezi Lodge, set right on the edge of the Upper Zambezi River. Recharge by the pool before taking a sunset cruise down the river (with a sundowner in hand) for the ultimate unwinding experience set amongst incredible wildlife scenes. We can arrange for you to see Victoria Falls, from the Zambian side this time, with the opportunity to swim in Devil’s Pool on the edge of the falls for a real thrill and unparalleled views. Once your trip has come to an end, transfer to Livingstone for your flight home.
Jen & George
We were bundled into a vehicle and dashed off to see a leopard within the first 30 minutes of arriving; it was an AWESOME start. Our guide completely made the entire experience. He was an exceptional birder and his best party trick was to point out the bird and then tell us the exact page we could find it in our book. We combined Zimbabwe with Mozambique, and our beach hotel felt like a complete hidden gem. The sand is like ‘moon dust’ and the hospitality and food were fantastic.
