Day 1-4
MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE, Kenya
Nestled in the heart of the Masai Mara, this tented camp offers the ultimate Kenyan safari experience, with fantastic game viewing.
Spend four nights in your own luxury tent on the woodland banks of the Talek River – the perfect location to watch wildebeest river crossings in the summer (from July to October) and to explore the Masai Mara Reserve. Head out in the morning or afternoon for a game drive across the reserve, or alternatively soar above in a hot air balloon for panoramic views of wandering elephant herds in the African Bush and Kenya’s unique landscape. Enjoy gin and tonic sundowners out in the wild, or on your private veranda watching the hippos wallow in the waters below your tent. Head out into the bush for dinner under the stars, or breakfast on the Mara for an unforgettable start to the day.
Day 4-5
 STONE TOWN, Zanzibar
Enjoy a day exploring Zanzibar’s historic Stone Town before an afternoon flight to Pemba Island.
Travel from Kenya to Zanzibar for the beach retreat element of your holiday, stopping in the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town. Go back in time whilst wandering through Stone Town’s cobbled streets, filled with ancient Sultans’ Palaces, bustling markets and doors decorated with ornate wooden carvings. Explore the Old Fort before watching the sun set with the locals at the Forondhi Gardens, or from Park Hyatt Zanzibar’s terrace, where you can sample exquisite wines with a sommelier whilst watching traditional Dhows sail past.Â
Day 5 -10Â
PEMBA ISLAND, Zanzibar
Experience authentic Zanzibar whilst staying on the unspoilt Pemba Island, known as East Africa’s best snorkelling and diving location.
After your stop in Stone Town, fly and stay for five nights in a rustic beach retreat on the unspoiled Pemba Island, at the authentically styled Fundu Lagoon Resort. Spend your days kayaking through turquoise waters and mangrove swamps, or snorkelling next to green and hawksbill turtles in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Take scenic fishing trips around the Pemba Channel and small barrier islands to catch dorado, or scuba dive with an incredible variety of marine life in the protected waters. Finish your days off sailing on a traditional Swahili dhow at sunset, or dining in a private beach spot by candlelight.
Tameem
I went on an adventure of a lifetime to Kenya, planned by True Travel. Borana was the perfect introduction to Africa – the staff were fantastic, the lodge very comfortable and I had amazing wildlife sightings. Then the helicopter flight and night out with Andrew (the real Crocodile Dundee) was an experience of a lifetime; we went scorpion hunting, crocodile catching, swimming in lakes and flew over flamingos. All in all, everything was fantastically planned and the service was brilliant. I’m looking forward to the next adventure!
