Why we love it
Explore the habitats around the South Luangwa National Park, getting up close and personal amongst any of the seven oxbow lagoons.
Eat lunch or relax in a hammock in the hide, watching animals without disturbing them, to the soundtrack of playing elephants nearby.
Drive around the park's many lagoons to see an abundance of wildlife, where thirsty animals often congregate for a drink or come to bathe.
Unwind with a sundowner in the Chami Lounge on the banks of the Luangwa river, perfect for a bird's eye view of the wildlife that the river and its lagoons attract.
Spot spectacular birds cooling off in the ebony trees surrounding your chalet, or flying over the neighbouring waterhole.

The team at True Travel had a simple brief: to send us on the world’s best family safari. As soon as our boat headed down the Zambezi, it all kicked off; we passed a herd of hippos, a lazy crocodile and a giraffe drinking nonchalantly on the riverbank. A magical experience from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble and if we had any issue that needed resolving, there was always someone on hand to do this. Before and after, they were off the charts – simply an awesome team.
