Why we love it
The name Anabezi is derived from the camp being situated on the Zambezi River and the many Ana Trees or Winter Thorns (Faidherbia albida) that surround the camp. These winter thorns drop corn yellow pods which attract a wide variety of animals to the area including many elephants, a welcome sight in the camp.
Anabezi is a 22 bed camp located on the banks of the Zambezi River at the Lower end of the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia. The accommodation consists of large luxurious tents, approximately 1000 sq ft in size, positioned on a raised wooden deck. The tents are generously spaced along the
Zambezi River bank and the Mushika flood plain, allowing the game to wonder around the camp freely. The plain hosts year-round grazing and offers spectacular diverse game viewing from the comfort of your tent!
The Anabezi cuisine is a fusion of European and African cuisines designed by our passionate head chef, Merle. Fresh continental breakfasts are served, followed by a generous buffet lunch. Guests may indulge in an afternoon high tea of scrumptious treats and fresh fruits. Dinner is a three course plated affair served with some of South Africas finest wines.
Cruise down the Zambezi for the chance to see game alongside the riverbanks, as well as crocodiles in the water, before enjoying a sundowner on your way home.
Throw a line into the Zambezi River for a chance to compete against the currents to catch a tigerfish - known to be combative.
Experience game from your canoe as you drift along the river in peace, with elephants drinking and bathing at the water's edge.
Take advantage of the four seater 4x4 for private game viewing, with picturesque views of the Zambezi National Park and incredible wildlife sightings.
Walk amongst the wildlife for the ultimate feeling of being 'at one' with nature, as you hide in the bush to observe animals without disturbing them.
Sit out and watch the birdlife, or join an experienced guide to spot birds such as white fronted or carmine bee-eaters, and bulbuls.

The team at True Travel had a simple brief: to send us on the world’s best family safari. As soon as our boat headed down the Zambezi, it all kicked off; we passed a herd of hippos, a lazy crocodile and a giraffe drinking nonchalantly on the riverbank. A magical experience from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble and if we had any issue that needed resolving, there was always someone on hand to do this. Before and after, they were off the charts – simply an awesome team.
