North of Botswana’s Moremi National Park is a series of large floodplains dotted with small palm islands and interspersed with large forested areas. Here, the 94km2 (60,000-hectare) Vumbura Reserve known for wonderfully varied and high densities of game is home to the two adjacent camps that make up Vumbura Plains. Imagine a luxury hotel of contemporary, minimalist design, deep in the Delta, and you’re nearly there. Wilderness Vumbura Plains comprises two smaller camps, Vumbura Plains North and Vumbura Plains South. The camps are connected by raised wooden walkways. Vumbura Plains South has six twin-bedded tents and Vumbura Plains North has six twin-bedded tents and two family units. The family units consist of two rooms with their own bathrooms and entrances, separated by a deck. Each of the luxury, spacious and contemporary tents are under thatch and raised on a deck. The bed is situated in the middle of the room offering views out of the tent, en-suite facilities with a separate toilet, outdoor shower and private plunge pools. During the winter months, hot water bottles and extra blankets are provided. Soaps, shampoos and insect repellents are also supplied in each tent.
Chobe National Park is Botswana’s first National Park and is home to the dazzling blue Chobe River.
A private and secluded camp that only caters for a small number of guests which creates a much more personal ambience.
