Jicaro Island Eco-lodge is a delightful boutique resort located on a private island in Lake Nicaragua. The lodge is just a short boat ride from Granada city. There are nine private casitas ‘little houses’, all of which have lake views and are within a short walk from the pool, restaurant, and wellness center.
The casitas are two stories, with a private bedroom and a king size bed on the second floor; and on the first floor, a spacious living area that connects to an outside deck overlooking the lake. Each casita is equipped with mosquito netting, ceiling fans, and the large doors and windows can all be opened for cross ventilation. Breakfast and lunch are served à la carte and dinner is a choice of fresh daily specials.
The hotel is located in the heart of the business and entertainment district of Managua, just a few meters from Metrocentro Mall.
Built and owned by German-descendent Nicaraguan families; a third of the property is dedicated to the coffee cultivation and the award-winning estate; another third is used rotational pastures for sustainable cattle ranching and organic farming; and the last third has been preserved as virgin forest making it a truly eco-friendly lodge.
The boutique hotel sits across Granada’s main square opposite the cathedral.
