You’ll arrive in Buenos Aires – arguably Latin America’s most cosmopolitan capital city – and be picked up from the airport to be taken to your fabulous hotel, the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau.
Situated in the heart of Recoelta, you’re close to many of Buenos Aires’ top attractions, as well as walking distance from numerous top restaurants, cafés and boutiques. You’ll spend your days here exploring the city with a private city tour including a visit to the renowned Recoleta Cemetery where Evita is buried, as well as an excellent gastronomy tour run by Vanessa, a local food critic who knows all the best eateries that you won’t easily find on Google!
We couldn’t suggest a trip to Buenos Aires without a top quality tango experience at Rojo Tango, which includes a three course dinner and plenty of Malbec! You’re guaranteed to be wowed!
Today you’ll get a short internal flight to Bariloche, the main city in Argentina’s Lake District. You’ll be picked up from the airport and embark on a spectacular drive along the lakeview roads until you reach Las Balsas in the picturesque village of Villa La Angostura. Enjoy fabulous food and wine at this Relais & Chateaux property, and you can take part in a number of additional activities that they can organise for you, such as fly fishing, sunset sailing, birdwatching and kayaking.
We have also included a full day tour of the 7 Lakes road up to San Martin de los Andes, during which there will be plenty of time for photo stops, picnics and short walks. You’ll also have a guided trek near Villa La Angostura taking you through the forests and mountains with beautiful views.
Next stop: pure Patagonia. Today you’ll fly to El Calafate, home to the famous Perito Moreno glacier as well as the stark and vast landscapes that Patagonia offers. You’ll spend 3 nights at the all-inclusive and Relais & Chateaux property, EOLO, whose location alone is breathtaking.
You’ll have a full day tour to see the famous glacier itself including a fantastic boat trip. You’ll also have a free day at EOLO, so you can take part in the activities on offer by the lodge itself such as nature walks, horse riding, cycling – or just relax at the spa or at one of the many libraries, enjoying excellent food and service.
For the next 4 days you’ll be exploring Chile’s most renowned attraction, Torres del Paine National Park, at arguably one of the best properties in this part of the country. The setting of Explora Torres del Paine is second-to-none, with breathtaking views and conveniently near the start of the ‘Base of the Towers’ trek.
Activities include a number of hikes for all levels through forests, glaciers and mountains, van-led explorations, horseriding, self-guided bike or hiking trails, wildlife tours as well as challenging high mountain ascents. There’s something for everyone and your time here will most likely be one of the highlights of your trip!
It’s time to visit the capital city of Chile, Santiago. You’ll spend 2 nights at the Singular Santiago, located in the central neighbourhood of Lastarria, which is packed with excellent restaurants and interesting boutiques. During your time in Santiago, you’ll have the opportunity to really get to know the city and its history with a privately guided tour, as well as an interactive cooking class with a couple of local Chilean chefs.
You’ll have the chance to try some typical staple dishes as well as some more unusual fusions, while getting a feel for the Chilean way of life.
Quite a contrast from both Santiago and Torres del Paine, for the next couple of days you’ll find yourself embracing Chilean wine culture. At Viña Vik, you’ll be looked after like never before, so prepare for a couple of days of pure relaxation and truly excellent food and wine.
Your time at Viña Vik includes a tour of the winery and wine tasting, a guided tour of the vegetable garden and tasting of seeds and flowers, horseriding, biking, paintball and trekking. There is also an excellent spa, swimming pool and relaxation areas. This will be the perfect way to end your trip after a couple of weeks of exploring and adventure.
