Lyngen Lodge is a boutique lodge in Northern Norway, designed to provide guests with a one stop destination for the ultimate Arctic experience. With only eight rooms, Lyngen Lodge is intimate whether you have the place to yourself, here as for a romantic winter break or with your family. Each morning over breakfast you can enjoy the sun rise over the fjords – your playground for the day. With two of the most distinctive seasons in the world, travelling in winter or summer offers two entirely unique ways to explore the wilderness. In winter, traverse the landscape by husky sled, having learnt to ‘mush’ that morning. Stop for lunch and enjoy an immersive Sami experience, accompanied by their reindeer. Slide into a pair of cross country skis or snowshoes to trek through the snow or if you have a need for speed, hop on your own snowmobile.
This area also happens to be one of the best places in the world for summit to sea skiing. Seasonally, the lodge arranges week look guided skiing with expert guides who knows the mountains like the back of their hands. Have the mountains entirely yourselves, never ski the same slope twice and return to the sauna or jacuzzi to rest tired limbs each evening. Not for the faint hearted, this is some of the best ski touring in Europe. Of course, winter also offers the chance of seeing the Northern Lights, Lyngen Lodge’s position, high in the Norwegian Arctic and far from light pollution, affords you some of the best chances to see them. Should you be so lucky, the spectacular nature of the aurora borealis reflecting off the water has been known to make previous guests faint in awe! In summer, hit the water of the fjords for fishing trips, hiking and biking through the mountains or yoga at midnight helped with by the never setting sun.

What an amazing country. The most warm, welcoming people and such a vast range of things to do and see. The landscape throughout our trip simply blew us away.
