Example Itinerary

Day 1-3

Lofoten Islands, Norway

  • Enjoy a private zodiac tour of the archipelago, stopping off at different islands along the way
  • Sit out at night in an outdoor hot tub in the light of the midnight sun

Lofoten is the place to be to witness some of the world’s most incredible natural attractions, from the midnight sun to the Northern Lights.

After a flight to Bodo via Oslo, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, NyvÃ¥gar Rorbuhotell, in the Lofoten Islands. Venture out on a private Zodiac tour towards the north of the archipelago, sighting the towering Vestfjorden and Raftsundet mountains and local wildlife such as white-tailed eagles along the way. Whilst on the tour, take lunch at a local restaurant on the whaling island of Skrova before walking around local arctic fishing villages. Once back at the hotel, warm up in the outdoor hot tub under the Midnight Sun or Northern Lights, depending on the season.

Day 3-6

Lyngen, Norway

  • Experience the excitement of snorkelling alongside the area’s resident orcas (killer whales)
  • Be led by a pack of huskies through the Arctic wilderness on a sled

Stay above the Arctic Circle on a remote island in the middle of a fjord to completely escape everyday life.

Transfer to Arctic Panorama Lodge in Lyngen, your home for the next three nights. With great emphasis on exploring the Arctic wilderness, venture out on a husky sledding experience. This is an exciting off-the-beaten-track journey where you’ll become acquainted with the huskies as you lead them home and feed them. For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, take a boat to swim and snorkel with orcas, head out to sea on a boat to swim, and snorkel with orcas – you might even spot minke and humpback whales from the boat! If you’re visiting in winter, cross your fingers in hope of spotting the Northern Lights from the lodge.

Day 6-8

Svalbard, Norway

  • Spot a polar bear whilst out and about as they roam the island
  • Ride an electric snowmobile through the wilderness in absolute silence

End your trip in one of the northernmost inhabited areas in the world, halfway between Norway and the North Pole.

Catch a domestic flight to Svalbard where you’ll be staying at Funken Lodge for your final two nights. For complete Arctic silence, venture out on an electric snowmobile for a one-of-a-kind wilderness safari. Often spotted on these safaris are Svalbard reindeer, ptarmigans and polar foxes, easier to spot thanks to the silence of the electric snowmobile. Journey down below the snow to spot ice caves that have preserved 1,000 years of history trapped between the ice walls. Whilst there are no official polar bear safaris in Svalbard, they populate at large, making for extremely high sightings.
