Perivolas

Oia, Santorini

Perivolas stands out from Oia’s whitewashed cliffside, set in a crescent on the caldera with bougainvillea growing along the paths leading to the rooms. Once the homes, wineries and stables of Santorini’s fishermen and farmers, this group of 300-year-old caves has been transformed into a complex of private rooms. The rooms make the most of the cave features and bursts of colour make for bright and light spaces in which to relax. Private terraces with Jacuzzis and plunge pools facing out over the sea make each room unique. A spectacular poollthat has adorned the cover of plenty of travel magazines, flows over the edge of the cliff merging with the Aegean that stretches ahead. The hotel restaurant serves fresh local seafood, best enjoyed with a glass of local Santorini wine. Located just a short stroll from the town of Oia you can take your pick of local restaurant of an evening. When you aren’t enjoying the setting of the hotel excursions on land and sea are easily arranged.

Reasons we love Perivolas

  • The oldest hotel in Oia, the rooms were once the fishermans work rooms. The cave design remains and the brilliant white walls makes for light airy rooms with marvellous views.
  • A short stroll from the action but set back from the main drag, Perivolas is a perfect hideaway in the midday sun whilst still only being a stroll from the buzz of the village.
  • Family run, the staff here are staggeringly charming and appear out of no where with cocktails and pool snacks through out the day.
