Day 1-3
OKAVANGO DELTA, Botswana
Stay in the heart of the Okavango Delta, surrounded by waterways and channels, for a true water camp experience.
Enjoy three nights at the island camp of Little Vumbura – in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta – surrounded by vast waterways and yearly channels that ensure an unforgettable wildlife experience. Hop on a boat safari to explore the waters or take a game drive around the surrounding Vumbura Plains to spot elephant, kudu, wildebeest, buffalo, African wildcat and lion. To explore the delta’s waterways further, set out in a traditional mokoro boat to look out for reed frogs and water lilies, see nocturnal animals on a night drive, or even soar in a hot air balloon for a true birds-eye view. In the evening, take a dip in the plunge pool or enjoy a crackling fire on the camp’s star deck.
Day 3-4
WINDHOEK, Namibia
Relax after your safari adventures at this comfortable and well located base for an overnight stay in Windhoek.
Fly to Windhoek in Namibia, to stay overnight at the Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel in the up-market suburb of Klein Windhoek, and head to the Soulstice Spa if you’re looking for rejuvenating treatments such as Flotation therapy and deep tissue massages. Enjoy your evening relaxing at the hotel’s Sky Lounge to enjoy sundowners and tapas or sample local Namibian wines and exceptional gastronomical dishes.
Day 4-6
OKONJIMA NATURE RESERVE, Namibia
Okonjima Bush Camp provides the perfect experience to get up close and personal with Namibia’s Big Cats.
Head to the family-run Okonjima Bush Camp, nestled in the foothills of the Omboroko Sandstone Mountains, and home of the Africat Foundation. The lodge is the perfect place to learn about Namibia’s carnivores, with a tour of the foundation to see the conservation work in action. Take a game drive in the morning or afternoon to see thriving leopards and cheetahs across the Okonjima Nature Reserve, and track leopards and hyenas with an experienced ranger to come close to the big cats. The lodge also offers night drives for a chance to spot porcupines and honey badgers, as well as walking trails to see some of the 250 species of birds found in the reserve, like the bare-cheeked babbler.
Day 6-8
DAMARALAND, Namibia
Stay in a luxury thatched suite surrounded by ochre boulders, offering spectacular vistas of Aba Huab Valley
Set amongst ochre boulders (and some of the most beautiful scenery found in Namibia) is Camp Kipwe, where you will be staying for two nights. During your stay, head out with one of the experienced local camp guides on a morning or afternoon game drive, or nature walk, to track the desert adapted elephants and possibly even an endangered black rhino. A visit to UNESCO World Heritage Site, Twyfelfontein, for the ancient Bushman rock engravings is a must during your trip, along with seeing the Burnt Mountains and Organ Pipes. Spend your evenings cooling off in the plunge pool or on a veranda terrace with a sundowner.
Day 8-10
SWAKOPMUND, Namibia
Swakopmund’s surrounding bay and incredible deserts provide the perfect opportunity to try some adrenaline filled activities before your trip to Sossusvlei.
Stay at The Strand in Namibia’s ‘Adventure Capital’ to try some incredible activities during your journey between Damaraland and Sossusvlei. Here, you can take a scenic flight over the Skeleton Coast, named by ancient Bushmen as ‘The Land God Made In Anger’ due to its extreme climate, landscape and now its shipwreck shores. Head out kayaking with the seals in Walvis Bay and quad bike over towering sand dunes during your two night stay.
Day 10-12
SOSSUSVLEI, Namibia
Explore the incredible landscapes, dunes and the flora and fauna that Sossusvlei and Sesriem have to offer.
Be surrounded by desert and mountains during your two nights stay in the unique Hoodia Desert Lodge. This is a fantastic base from which to explore Sossusvlei and Sesriem, being only a 20 minute drive to the Sesriem Gate. Here, you can see tall red sand dunes and eerie salt pans dotted with dead acacia trees, as well as climb one of the world’s tallest sand dunes: Big Daddy. Try one of the lodge’s ‘off the beaten track’ excursions where you can learn about the petrified dunes, the endemic dune lark, and ‘secret’ canyons, as well as have an ultimate picnic lunch surrounded by camel thorn trees in the desert.
Day 12-13
WINDHOEK, Namibia
Reflect on your adventure filled trip, spanning from Botswana’s Delta to Namibia’s deserts, with an evening at the Weinberg.
Finish off your unique Botswana & Namibia holiday with a well deserved night at the Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel. Now it is time to relax and unwind in luxury with their massage, beauty and wellness treatments, sunset lounges and refreshing swimming pool, to feel completely pampered before your international flight back home.
Atilla
The journey to Namibia and Serra Cafema was the best trip I’ve ever done. I really loved the remote camp, the way we travelled there (flying over the endless dunes and amazing coastline in a private plane) and the infinite hospitality, knowledge and passion of the whole team. We enjoyed a lot of activities: we visited the Himba people, which was the experience of a lifetime, took a quad bike tour and boat tour. For my birthday, they organised a private dinner at a beautiful, remote location.
