From its lofty position, 2,675 metres above the valley floor, Six Senses Paro has a birds eye view over the rugged peaks and pine forest-clad valleys of the Paro Valley. In keeping with the other Six Senses properties, it takes an authentic and considered approach, using stone, timber and neutral tones to blend into its natural surroundings. Deeply calming and meditative, its setting maximises the views to create a relaxing retreat, while also offering access to the ancient monasteries of the region, including Tiger’s Nest.
Just 20 suites and villas continue this tranquil, nature-immersed experience, with timber and neutral tones that bring the outside, in. Traditional bukhari wood-burning stoves and vegetable-dyed, antique-washed Himalayan rugs create an authentic sense of place, while espresso machines and Bose Bluetooth speakers bring the comforts of home. Dining follows a philosophy of ‘Eat with Six Senses’, using local organic ingredients for honest dishes which can be served in the dining room, your suite or the ruins of a 12th century dzong.
Perched at 2,250 metres, Amankora Paro is tucked away amongst the pine trees on the edge of a village above Paro town and offers access to the monasteries, museums and temples of the region, including the renowned Tiger’s Nest.
