Why we love it
Set off from the lodge in the early morning and late afternoon to catch some spectacular wildlife and landscapes in Lower Zambezi National Park.
Paddle downstream on an offshoot off the main Zambezi River to see elephant crossings, sleepy leopards and grazing game on the banks' floodplains.
Catch and release some spectacular freshwater fish living in the Zambezi, including tigerfish, red breasted bream and nkupi, with the help of experienced guides.
Unwind with a variety of massages and therapeutic care treatments, using indigenous ingredients from the African bush, or simply relax in the pool.
Cruise down the Zambezi to see special sightings of wildlife like fish eagles, storks, hippo, crocodile and waterbuck before enjoying a sundowner on a sandy island.
Walk through the riverine bush and climb up to a panoramic view of the Zambezi Valley in the cooler months of May to August.
Over 300 species of birds are found in the Lower Zambezi National Park, including the Narina trogon and the African pitta from December to January.

The team at True Travel had a simple brief: to send us on the world’s best family safari. As soon as our boat headed down the Zambezi, it all kicked off; we passed a herd of hippos, a lazy crocodile and a giraffe drinking nonchalantly on the riverbank. A magical experience from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble and if we had any issue that needed resolving, there was always someone on hand to do this. Before and after, they were off the charts – simply an awesome team.
