Day 1 - 3: Zion National Park, Utah

  • Enjoy a campfire and evening of stargazing from the porch of your cabin at Zion Mountain Ranch
  • Hike through Bryce Canyon National Park to explore the incredible amphitheatres and hoodoos that make this park famous

Stay at beautiful Zion Mountain Ranch set amongst endless plains of roaming buffalo.

On arrival into St. George Regional Airport, you’ll be met and whisked to Zion Mountain Ranch, located just outside Zion National Park in a spectacular scenic setting. From the Ranch you can see several area national parks including Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Canyon and more. The lodges are surrounded by 2,700 acres of high mountain meadows and forests where the resident buffalo herd graze and roam. After a full day of activities, you’ll have the opportunity to relax by the campfire or admire the stars from your private porch. Spend a day hiking through Bryce Canyon National Park with your private guide; stop in the two largest amphitheatres in the canyon and trek into the maze of hoodoos that make Bryce a unique experience. Stop for a picnic lunch and enjoy incredible plateau views.

Day 3 - 5: Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

  • Enjoy fresh chef-prepared meals, campfires and rustic canvas tents with plush bedding and show-stopping views
  • Hike the less-crowded North Rim of the Grand Canyon with a private guide, passing through every ecosystem found between Canada and Mexico on one trail

Spend two nights camping in style and private splendour on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Set out early for a privately guided hike in the Zion Narrows. Delve deep into the geologic story of Zion, human and natural history, and see highlights of many significant moments in the 18 million year timeline of The Narrows. In addition to the educational moments, there’s a great deal of fun, reflection and meditative moments along the way – and you won’t be able to resist snapping pictures of the unreal surroundings. After hiking The Narrows your guide will transfer you to your private camp for the night near Grand Canyon National Park. These canvas-walled tents have soft down comforters and plush towels, plus a chef to prepare fresh, seasonal meals tailored to your taste. Enjoy stargazing with a telescope and a classic campfire with s’mores in the evening. The next morning, enjoy a full day hiking tour of the Grand Canyon. Explore the less-touristed North Rim of the Canyon, passing through fir trees and aspen, ferns and wildflowers. A variety of trails offer incredible scenery and rim viewpoints, though spectacular North Kaibab Trail passes through every ecosystem to be found between Canada and Mexico.

Day 5 - 8: Canyon Point, Utah

  • Paddleboard and kayak from your privately chartered boat on Lake Powell. Lake Powell has more coastline than the entire state of California – twisted with hidden slot canyons perfect for exploring by boat
  • Traverse the desert by UTV to the Vermillion Cliffs to see colourful sandstone layers and an unmatched concentration of geologic phenomena

Finish your trip in unparalleled desert style at Amangiri, a gorgeous, serene resort surrounded by colourful rock formations, mountains and sand dunes.

Depart camp and travel with your guide one hour to the Wire Pass Canyon trailhead. Your privately guided hike begins down an incredible trail towards the famous Buckskin Gulch Gorge, the longest continuous slot canyon in the United State. The walk begins along a wide, meandering stream bed between low reddish cliffs that gradually rise and crowd together. The end of the second slot of cliffs opens suddenly at the confluence with Buckskin Gulch. The sun illuminates the curving sandstone walls, producing incredible reflected effects. After hiking, continue on around 40 minutes to Amangiri. This gorgeous resort is tucked into a protected valley with sweeping views over colourful, stratified rock towards the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument. Designed to blend into the landscape with natural hues, materials and textures, the structures are commanding and in proportion with the scale of the natural surroundings. Enjoy the natural surroundings, views and the beautiful main pool – the centrepiece of the property. Over the next days experience a private UTV excursion to the Vermillion Cliffs. Nowhere else on earth offers a similar concentration of varied geologic phenomena, with colourful layers of red rock sandstone cliff and sandy dunes. Spend another full day at Lake Powell on a privately chartered boat equipped with kayaks and paddleboards. With more coastline than the entire coastline of California, Lake Powell is renowned for slot canyons and hidden canyons perfect for deep exploration. A day of unmatched scenery and blissful remoteness awaits, the perfect ending to this adventure in the American West.
