La Lancha is part of the boutique Ford Coppola chain located on the shores of Lake Peten Itza in the northern region of Peten. Only an hour from the border with Belize, this is an excellent entry point into the Maya Biosphere Reserve. Most guests come to La Lancha to explore the magnificent Maya citadels of Tikal (the largest yet discovered), Uxactun, Taxha and Topoxte. The Lakeview Suites are stunning, with incredible views of the colour-changing water from the private deck. We recommend spending a minimum of two nights here (three is better) to give you time to explore Tikal and the Maya ruins as well as time to get onto the water by canoe and swim in these healing waters. The hotel offers horseback riding and nature trails.

This 15-bedroom retreat on the shores of Lake Atitlan is a rare and special experience. The house was once a family home, and Casa Palopo has not lost touch with its warm welcome.
