Rusacks St. Andrews

Scottish Highlands

The Rusacks Hotel in St. Andrews is a charming haven set on the edge of the famed Old Course, making it a mecca for golfers while also offering an inviting and warm welcome to all. The grandeur of the building continues throughout, with tartan furnishings, oversized sofas and wood panelling creating a cosy atmosphere. A recent renovation has seen a more contemporary styling in the restaurants but it retains the old world charm that’s made it a St Andrews institution for decades. The 123 rooms continue the Highlands-inspired theme, with warm woods, muted tones and tactile furnishings. While not all feature a view of the golf course, they share the same comfortable and homely feel.

The dining experience at Rusacks Hotel is a highlight, with options ranging from the traditional Scottish pub ambiance of the One Under Bar to the upscale rooftop restaurant, 18, which combines locally sourced Scottish delicacies with breathtaking views of the golf course and the West Sands Beach. The Bridge serves Mediterranean cuisine inspired by traditional dishes from Italy, southern France and Spain. This bustling town has a wealth of restaurants, bars and pubs, all within walking distance, so you’re never far from sustenance as you explore the historic streets or search out the 19th hole after a day on the golf course.

Reasons we love Rusacks St. Andrews

  • Offers a prime location on the edge of the Old Course, with sweeping views of the golf course and the beach from some of the rooms and the rooftop restaurant
  • The warm and cosy decor is elegantly Scottish without being twee, creating a wonderful sense of place in this small Scottish town
  • One Under Bar is a welcoming spot for traditional pub food and drinks in a friendly and classically Scottish pub
