Stay at Awasi Iguazu

Awasi Iguazu opened in 2018 as the third property to join this boutique chain of luxury hotels in South America. The 14 individual villas are located in a private reserve on the fringes of the River Iguazu. Each villa has a private deck surrounded by rainforest with a plunge pool to cool off in the heat of the day and listen to the sounds of nature. Awasi Iguazu is only 20 minutes from the famous Iguazu waterfalls meaning guests get a head start to reach the park as it opens, allowing for about 30 minutes of exploration almost all to yourself. Beyond the waterfalls, your personal guide and vehicle give you the freedom to explore rivers, Jesuit missions and hidden rock pools.

So many visitors to Iguazu focus on the waterfalls without ever realising that the Atlantic Rainforest beyond is one of the region’s highlights. Thankfully, fewer visitors mean that the wildlife and forests have been left mostly untouched.
