Why we love it
The focus of your stay at Sal Salis is the wilderness around you and its marine and land inhabitants.
The camp has been designed to operate in tune with the fragile environment and as such we abide by strict principles of minimal impact and sustainability. All of the power is solar generated, each en suite bathroom has a natureloo, water usage is very carefully managed and no waste material escapes into the surrounding ecosystem.
The camp has 16 wilderness tents built amongst the sand dunes. They are furnished with comfortable beds, made up with quality bed linen. Guest robes, native herb soaps and organic shampoos are provided. The tents are spacious, simple and comfortable – they are not intended to be 5 star hotel rooms in the bush so do not offer TVs, telephones, minibars or other typical hotel room appliances.
Experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to swim with either whale sharks or humpback whales, as they pass through Ningaloo Reef.
Take a walk through past and present as you follow your guide through Mandu Mandu Gorge, looking for black-footed rock wallaby and fossils.
Kayak into the lagoon before dropping an anchor into the sand and snorkelling to see fish, sea turtles, reef sharks, and maybe even a migrating whale.
From game fishing for black marlin, to reef fishing for coral trout, Sal Salis offers many different types of fishing to match everyone's preferences.

Our daughter is at university in Melbourne for a year so we wanted to visit her. We haven’t really thought about visiting Australia before but we’re so glad we had a reason to travel all that way. Three weeks seems like such a long time away, but we packed it full of so many amazing experiences that it went by before we knew it. Now we’re hooked and planning our next trip as want to visit the Outback with her while she’s still Down Under!
