The focus of your stay at Sal Salis is the wilderness around you and its marine and land inhabitants. The camp has been designed to operate in tune with the fragile environment and as such we abide by strict principles of minimal impact and sustainability. All of the power is solar generated, each en suite bathroom has a natureloo, water usage is very carefully managed and no waste material escapes into the surrounding ecosystem. The camp has 16 wilderness tents built amongst the sand dunes. They are furnished with comfortable beds, made up with quality bed linen. Guest robes, native herb soaps and organic shampoos are provided. The tents are spacious, simple and comfortable – they are not intended to be 5 star hotel rooms in the bush so do not offer TVs, telephones, minibars or other typical hotel room appliances.
The Arkaba Homestead, dating back to 1856, is a classic Flinders Ranges building, with thick stone walls, deep shady verandahs and corrugated roofing all set against the backdrop of the rugged Elder Range.
