Set in the east of Sri Lanka, Gal Oya National Park’s diverse landscapes, mountainous horizon and varied wildlife make it a scenic and remote location to spot some of the country’s most exciting wildlife. It’s also the only park in the country to offer boat safaris, bringing you closer to the animals’ habitats. Sloth bears, water buffalo and leopard are just some of many species to be found in Gal Oya and as you drift leisurely across the lake you may observe elephants bathing at the edge, kingfishers darting across the surface or storks balancing elegantly in the shallows.
