Why we love it
Davisons Camp is beautifully situated in the private Linkwasha Concession, in the south-eastern section of Hwange National Park. Named after the founder of Hwange National Park and its first warden, Ted Davison, it is tastefully hidden beneath a grove of false mopane trees. Both the guest tents and the main area comprising a lounge, dining room and plunge pool look out at a much-frequented waterhole and open plain.
There are 9 meru-styled tents in total including one honeymoon tent with a king sized bed and 1 family tent which consists of 2 rooms. This camp can accommodation 18 guests
plus 2 children. Each tent has its own private veranda that overlooks the waterhole in front of the camp.
During the winter hot water bottles and extra blankets are provided. Supplied in each tent are shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, guest soap, sunscreen, room spray, shower cap, accessory kit, insect repellent (spray and cream), mosquito oil, re-chargeable torch, umbrella and robes. There are also individual canvas bags with padlocks that are supplied for your valuables, which are then stored in a central safe.
Explore a remote, wildlife rich corner of the Hwange National Park in an open top land cruiser, to spot huge herds of elephants, ostrich, wildebeest and cheetah.
For a more intimate safari experience, explore the landscape around you on foot with an experienced guide who will teach you about the flora and fauna.
Keep your eyes peeled for shy and elusive nocturnal animals like the lesser bush baby, honey badger, spotted hyena, pangolin and even the majestic leopard.
Enjoy a unique and respectful cultural exchange whilst being guided around one of the local rural villages by a community member.
If the walking tour wasn't close enough, hide out in one of Davisons' camouflaged spots by the watering hole to come feet away from the animals.

We were bundled into a vehicle and dashed off to see a leopard within the first 30 minutes of arriving; it was an AWESOME start. Our guide completely made the entire experience. He was an exceptional birder and his best party trick was to point out the bird and then tell us the exact page we could find it in our book. We combined Zimbabwe with Mozambique, and our beach hotel felt like a complete hidden gem. The sand is like ‘moon dust’ and the hospitality and food were fantastic.
