Bomani Luxury-Tented Lodge is tucked away inside our 5,000-acre private reserve in the Ngamo Forest, only a kilometre from the gate into Hwange National Park. The area – once an ancient fossil lake – became submerged by Kalahari sands, which created today’s expansive plains and dotted them with water pans and Ilala Palms.
Bomani’s unspoilt wilderness offers a peaceful sanctuary to both the guests and the countless herds of wildlife that call the area home. With the help of local builders, carpenters and thatchers, Bomani Tented Lodge opened in 2000. Over time it has expanded, but it remains an intimate and exclusive destination. There are now nine large luxury tents and one sumptuous thatched bungalow. Five of the Serengeti tents are perched upon spacious Zambezi peak platforms, which at five foot above ground level, offer stunning views across the open grasslands. The other four,,along with the bungalow, are at ground level and a little closer to nature. Their verandas are the perfect spot for early morning coffee or a nightcap under the stars.
Every tent is elegantly furnished and comfortable, each with a private en-suite bathroom, hot running water and electricity (by generator). Your private canvas sanctuary is incredibly secure and designed to keep out all creatures great and small. Although it’s equipped to deal with all weathers, during the cooler months they pop a hot water bottle in your bed to ensure you’re kept snug.Whether you’re after the perfect honeymoon destination, or an adventure safari away from the crowds, you need look no further. The team prefer to tailor your time around you, it’s your safari after all. You can be woken with coffee in bed, before joining one of the trained licensed guides on a sunrise game drive. Or opt for a lie-in, before breakfast in an armchair and a village tour.
