Bartholomeus Klip is situated in the Western Cape just over an hour from Cape Town. It is a beautifully restored Edwardian farmhouse that has 5 large en-suite bedrooms. There is a separate house called Wild Olive that sleeps a further 7 guests, has its own small pool, and is ideal for families who want exclusivity. The main homestead at Bartholomeus Klip is over a hundred years old but is filled with modern comforts, including air-conditioning for the hot days of summer. It is surrounded by a wide shady veranda, with areas of comfortable seating overlooking the gardens, and the house itself is furnished with antiques and designer fabrics. This small country house luxury hotel makes sure you have the feeling of being a guest in a particularly charming and hospitable home, where you are always welcome. Surrounding the farmhouse is a 4000 hectare private nature reserve which is pure fynbos. Nature drives go out morning and afternoon or guests can explore the reserve on mountain bikes or by foot. The reserve is home to African wildlife such as zebra, eland, springbok, bontebok, wildebeest, even buffalo, but also wonderful spring flowers and bird life. Quite the most spectacular feature however is a huge lake at the bottom of the garden on the banks of which Bartholomeus Klip have built an elegant deck house. The views of the sun setting against the looming Elandskloof mountains is breathtaking.
