Visit Botswana to experience two unique types of safari to witness the best wildlife of the region, between a tranquil riverboat safari and a thrilling walking safari.
Day 1 - 4: Chobe River, Botswana
Day 4 - 7: Linyanti, Botswana
Day 7 - 10: Okavango Delta, Botswana
Cruise down the Chobe River in style on board the stylish Chobe Princess, equipped with just four cabins for a more intimate river cruise experience.
Begin your Botswana safari experience aboard the Chobe Princess where you will be staying for the next three nights. With only a small number of guests on board, this is the houseboat you have always dreamed of staying on – with personal service guaranteed. With three smaller boats on board for daily excursions, there are plenty of activities to enjoy. Spend your days spotting wildlife as you float down the Chobe River, landing tiger fish or simply absorbing Africa’s unique beauty in this peaceful and serene environment. With 450 bird species to be spotted in this wetland paradise, this is a photographer’s paradise. Whatever you choose to do, you can be certain that each day will be completely tailored to your interests on board this beautiful and intimate boat.
Selinda Explorers Camp offers respite from the ‘daily grind’ of traditional safaris with a stronger focus on guided walks, to take in the smaller things often missed from a vehicle.
From Chobe, you’ll fly down to the Linyanti for three nights at Selinda Explorers Camp, located in the heart of the private 130,000 hectare Selinda Reserve. This intimate camp is designed in the style of the early explorers, with campaign furniture and vintage travelling trunks that lend a more authentic atmosphere to the camp. Each of the four canvas guest tents has been created to take you back to the golden age of safaris, with hot and cold water provided in large jugs for the copper vanities and a relaxed bohemian style. Overall the camp can be described as ‘bush elegance – unassuming, without holding back on the little luxuries.
While the camp is light on its footprint, it is undoubtedly heavy on its experiential luxury. Wildlife viewing is focused on guided walks in addition to drives, to allow the guests to learn about the smaller things often missed from a vehicle. After a morning spent walking, spend your afternoons in the hammock listening to the magical sounds of the African bush, before enjoying delicious food around the campfire under the star-studded sky.
Located in an exclusive 25,000-hectare wildlife concession, Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp offers some of the best flood plain views in the Delta.
Your safari adventure will end with a bang in the heart of the world famous Okavango Delta at Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp. Nestled under a canopy of African ebony trees, each of the nine ensuite tents sits on a raised wooden platform with spectacular views of the expansive lagoons and channels of the Delta. This corner of the Okavango Delta boasts superb game viewing opportunities which can be enjoyed by boat, on a mokoro canoe or on a game drive. Break up your day to try your hand at fishing or head out with your expert guide on foot as an alternative way to soak up the beauty of this unspoiled wilderness area.
