Fushimi Inari, Kyoto

Japan
Wander through the seemingly endless pathway of vibrant orange torii gates that line the approach to Mount Inari and make up one of Japan’s most iconic sights. Honouring the deity of success and prosperity, the shrine complex comprises worship halls and shrines connected by pathways lined with around 10,000 torii gates. Explore Japan’s rich history as you stroll along the paths; while some of the torii were dedicated in the Edo period (1603-1867), it’s believed the shrine was founded in the 8th century.
