Day 1 - 3: Hanoi, Vietnam

  • Walk around the Old Quarter to see the old market streets organised by trade
  • Find a classic out-of-print book on the famous Dinh Le book street

A melting pot of Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences, Hanoi’s place as the country’s capital is well-deserved.

Begin your trip with two nights at Sofitel Legend Metropole in Vietnam’s culture-rich capital, Hanoi. Soak up the hotel’s sophisticated modern Asian and French Indochina twist with a cocktail at the poolside Bamboo bar and a reservation at the Paris-inspired café La Terrace. Ideally located in the heart of the old French Quarter, drift around quaint cobbled streets and local eateries of the Old Quarter. With a guide, get a taste for local history on tours around iconic landmarks such as the Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and the Old Saigon Post Office.

Day 3 - 4: Halong Bay, Vietnam

The pretty turquoise waters and towering limestone islands of Halong Bay have gained international fame, and for good reason.

From Hanoi, drive to Tuan Chau Marina and enjoy a welcoming drink onboard Jasmine, a traditional Vietnamese junk boat. Set sail to Halong Bay, an archipelago home to 3,000 islands, and spend one night anchored at Luon Ba Bay. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Cuan Van floating fishing village and tour around the Tien Ong cave. By evening, watch as the chef prepares sumptuous Vietnamese cuisine before tasting it yourself. Rise to sunrise Tai Chi, swim off a beach or hike the four hundred steps for outstanding bay views, before returning to the marina.

Day 4 - 6: Hue, Vietnam

  • Enjoy a traditional imperial banquet unfolding in multiple courses
  • Visit the spectacular Tombs of the Ancient Emperors with lush mountain views

A true foodie city filled with charming imperial architecture, Hue holds the prime spot on the Perfume River.

Continue onto the ancient capital of the Nguyen Dynasty where you’ll spend two nights at the Imperial Hotel. As a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage city, Hue is rich in history and scattered with ancient pagodas and churches, Emperors’ tombs, verdant hills and rivers. From the rooftop pool, soak up scenic views over the famous Perfume River, Ngu Binh Mountain and across to the Royal Palace. Uncover the depths of Hue with a day of visits around well preserved monuments, as well as the impressive architecture and design of the Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu pagoda and Khai Dinh Royal Tomb

Day 6 - 9: Hoi An, Vietnam

A city dotted with canals, Hoi An is a fusion of cultures, with clearly identifiable Chinese, French and Japanese influences.

Travel over the famous Hai Van Pass taking in outstanding scenery en route to the charming coastal and UNESCO heritage town of Hoi An. During your visit you’ll spend three nights at the Four Seasons Nam Hai, a destination in its own right situated on Vietnam’s most celebrated beach. Once an ancient Japanese, Chinese and European trade port, unearth the town’s rich history and culture on a walking tour around the Old Town, passing the pagodas, Japanese covered bridge and riverfront markets. As Vietnam’s textile capital, enjoy a trip to the tailor’s, exploring the colourful lantern-lined streets on your way.

Day 9 - 12: Vinh Hy Bay, Vietnam

  • Hike in the Nui Chua National Park to unearth indigenous flora and fauna
  • Enjoy a specially prepared picnic in Amanoi’s secluded beach spot

Amanoi is perched in the pristine Vietnamese jungle, with tumbling views of the crystal-clear waters of Vinh Hy Bay.

Fly down to Ninh Thuan Province, located on the south-east coast, for an untterly remote experience. Here you’ll spend three nights at Amanoi, where rugged landscape falls into the Ocean. Positioned on Vietnam’s largest conservation area, the hotel is perched on a cliff surrounded by flourishing hills and ancient boulders. Unwind with complimentary morning yoga classes and lazy days at the Beach Club, and upgrade to a cookery class overlooking the Ocean at Rock Studio. Day 12 - 14: Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
