Hike up the epic lunar-like walls of Mount Bromo – an occasional wisp of smoke and the ashen, volcanic landscape a reminder of the power of this sleeping giant. Bromo is best climbed at sunrise when the morning light softens the rugged peaks and mists blanket the surrounding rice fields. Watching the sunrise from the rim affords spectacular views of the encircling peaks of the neighbouring volcanoes, Kursi and Batok.
