Lottie has had a passion for travel, even from a young age and has been lucky enough to travel around the world. Visiting different destinations and getting exposure to different cultures has pushed her out of my comfort zone and helped her to appreciate local, authentic experiences. Taking these experiences, Lottie aims to make a difference to her client’s holidays as a Trip Tailor.
What I love most about working in the travel industry is being able to provide clients with amazing experiences and memories in the places that I have visited and loved. Not only am I sharing these experiences but I am also learning more and more each day about different places.
My ideal holiday would be somewhere hot and near the sea, where I can relax and read my book in the sun, go swimming/snorkelling, but also experience new cultures. Visiting new places is a particular highlight, where I can learn something new about the culture, try the local food and explore the artworld. This can include wandering around an archaeological site and learning about its history or climbing to the highest point to see a panoramic view of the city.
Don’t pack as much as you think, and consider what the weather conditions are going to be like before packing!
My favourite travel memory was spending five days sailing from Cartagena, Colombia to the San Blas Islands, Panama. We anchored at various tiny islands where there was clear blue water, tall palm trees and unbelievable snorkelling. I was lucky enough to swim with dolphins, sharks and stingrays. With a large group of people from all over the world and no access to the internet made me feel completely free and separate from the outside world. We could just enjoy and take in the beautiful surroundings.
