Highlights

  • Stay at one of the most famous hotels in Zimbabwe, standing at over 202 years old
  • Enjoy a dinner over the falls on the famous steam train
  • Go on game drives day and night to see different bush scenes unfold
  • Fish for the hard fighting and ferocious tigerfish
  • Relax on a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River with a sundowner in hand

Day 1 - 3: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

  • Drift with the flow of the river as you canoe down the Zambezi to see wildlife up close
  • Experience the thrill of white water rafting in the gorges below the falls

The largest waterfall in the world and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls should be on everyone’s southern Africa itinerary.

Fly to Victoria Falls where you’ll be transferred to the famous colonial-era Victoria Falls Hotel for a two-night stay. After your arrival, enjoy High Tea with an African twist as you sit out on the veranda overlooking the majestic waterfall. Spend an evening reliving Cecil Rhodes’ steam train dreams by eating dinner on the Rovos Rail, departing from Victoria Falls train station and crossing over the bridge with epic views of the falls. For a chance to get closer to the water, we can arrange a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River where you’ll have a sundowner to hand.

Day 3 - 6: Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

  • Go on an after-dinner night drive to see nocturnal bush scenes, and with any luck a leopard
  • Visit the local community to get an authentic insight into local life

Hwange is a fantastic national park where herds of elephants traverse the landscape, as well as being a prime spot for lion sightings.

Fly down to Hwange National Park for a three-night stay at Verney’s Camp, situated on the border of the savannah and overlooking a watering hole. This perfect location makes for incredible wildlife sightings on both morning and night game drives. Your guide will take you around the riverways and flood plains surrounding the camp with a good chance of sighting herds of elephants and large predators such as lions and leopards. Night drives allow you to spot smaller nocturnal animals as well as the thrill of witnessing a pride of lions on the hunt.

Day 6 - 9: Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe

  • Become a twitcher and tick off over 380 bird species from your list
  • Enjoy a sunrise cruise to see the waking carmine bee-eater colonies

A park known for consistent animal sightings; watch as elephants, hippos and crocodiles gather at sunrise around the riverbanks.

Finish your adventure by taking a flight to Mana Pools National Park. Here you’ll spend three nights at Little Ruckomechi, a beautiful camp set on the banks of the Lower Zambezi River. This location is considered to provide the best walking safaris in Africa, with frequent up-close sightings of elephant, zebra and buffalo. Take advantage of this prime spot along the Zambezi and set out on guided fishing trips – you might be lucky enough to catch an aggressive tigerfish. Walk in the footsteps of animals as you follow your guide on foot into the bush to track wildlife. Round up your trip with a return flight from Victoria Falls.
