Day 1 – 2
Gothenburg, Sweden
Gothenburg’s canals and seaside location make the city a peaceful place to explore but don’t be fooled, the city is full of life with a thriving cafe culture.
Fly to Gothenburg, where you’ll be transferred to Hotel Pigalle for one night. Once settled in, spend half a day exploring the city, complete with an expert guide to show you the ropes. Visit the selection of Nordic artworks at the Gothenburg Museum of Art before stopping for a wander around the Fish Church, the city’s best seafood market designed to look like a chapel. A visit to this charming port city is not complete without a fish supper, Gothenburg’s speciality, and we can make you a reservation at one of the city’s top seafood restaurants.
Day 2 – 4
Fjällbacka, Sweden
A popular summer retreat for Gothenburg’s residents, Fjällbacka is Swedish seaside life at its finest and most authentic.
Travel to Fjällbacka where you’ll continue your west coast adventure at Stora Hotellet Bryggan. Located right on the port, your stay here allows for easy access to many water-based activities in the Skagerrak. We can arrange a private boat trip around the archipelago, learning about the amusing history of Heart Island and Manure Island. Sail past Ingrid Bergman’s summer home and spot a few inquisitive seals coming to say hello! Once back on land, spend an afternoon on a bike exploring the town’s idyllic streets.
Day 4 – 6
Klädesholmen, Sweden
Finish your trip in a hotel floating on the sea, just off from the former fishermen’s islet of Klädesholmen where most of Sweden’s famous herring are caught.
Continue to the islet of Klädesholmen where you’ll spend two nights at Salt & Sill. Whilst here, spend a day out fishing for crab and crayfish before warming up in the hotel’s floating sauna or jacuzzi. In the evening, we can make a reservation for you at the hotel’s restaurant where you’ll dine on the pier with an unbelievable proximity to the ocean. To truly engage with Klädesholmen’s history of herring fishing, the staff can arrange for you to spend some time with a chef in the food studio – make your own flavoured herring to bring home and impress guests at your next dinner party.
Vivienne
We went looking for the Northern Lights and got so much more – snowmobiling, husky sledding, and we were hosted by lovely people. It was a pleasure planning our trip with Molly; she understood exactly what we were looking for from our snowy adventure!
