Sol y Luna

Cusco and the Sacred Valley

The Sol y Luna is a shining example of how hospitality and community can work symbiotically. This boutique hotel is run by its owner and founder, Petit Miribel. Petit and her family bought the property in the 1990s to fund a much-needed school for local children. The 43 luxury cottages are dotted around the extensive gardens, each little home decorated with local artwork and murals by the acclaimed Peruvian artist Federico Bauer adorn the walls. Based in the heart of the Sacred Valley, the hotel has 25 Peruvian Paso horses, mountain bikes, kayaks and culinary and craft workshops to keep everyone entertained. We highly recommend visiting the school and orphanage, which is now thriving thanks to the success of the Sol y Luna and the unbreakable dedication of Petit and her team.
