Dip into vibrant street markets and colonial architecture in Kuala Lumpur, as well as examining Penang’s long history, street food and blend of cultures. Over-indulge in delicious Malayan cuisine, explore local tea plantations in the grassy highlands and unwind on the gorgeous beaches of the country’s tropical islands.
Travel to Malaysia’s Borneo for dense rainforests and pygmy elephants, orangutans, monkeys and sun bears.

My husband and I stayed at the Datai for our honeymoon and wanted to take our kids back after the refurb. We needed Peter and Katie‘s guidance to help us create a trip memorable for more than a beautiful hotel and perfect beach. Kuala Lumpur was so much fun but – amazing food and we rushed about for 2 nights there before heading down to Sepilok to see the orangutans, our boys LOVED that. Thankfully the Datai was even better than we remembered it. Such an amazing family holiday. Thank you True Luxury.

Scenery
Malaysia is an extraordinarily diverse country with its striking landscapes, misty highlands, dense rainforests, wildlife, beaches and modern cities. Explore the hidden world of Mount Kinabalu, where the lower areas are just as spectacular as the summit; the faunas and orchids are the perfect excuses to stop and smell the flowers. The firefly displays are so immense they will put the night’s sky to shame.
Jungle
Delve into the jungle for wildlife experiences on the Kinabatangan River. Borneo Rainforest Lodge is located in a magnificent setting beside the Danum River, in Sabah’s largest protected area of lowland dipterocarp forest. Enjoy delving into the island’s natural surroundings with picnics by waterfalls, strolls through gigantic caves, and cultural boat trips. There are numerous wildlife spotting opportunities, including proboscis monkeys, orangutans, silver leaf monkeys, pygmy elephants and an assortment of special bird species.
Beaches
Malaysia’s Borneo is renowned for its beaches. With only a few hotels to choose from, it’s a refreshing place to go on holiday. Langkawi, being one of them, consists of an archipelago of 99 islands in the north-west corner of Peninsula Malaysia on the Thai-Malaysian sea border. You can enjoy the beach, surrounded by lush green vegetation and impressive limestone formations out to sea.
Adventure
For the adventurers, there are some very impressive treks to embark on. Hike up climb Mount Kinabalu, to the summit of South East Asia’s highest peak. You might also head to Mulu for some lighter trekking and also to explore multiple caves, experience the bat precession, swim in waterfalls, picnic in shady spots outside the caves and experience true village life.
