Time + Tide Luwi

South Luangwa National Park

Luwi Bush Camp, which is nestled in the shade of huge mahogany trees, is close to a permanent hippo and crocodile filled lagoon. It is situated in a really remote area with no other camps or people for many miles around. Due to the remote location it is the perfect camp for walking safaris. Luwi Bush Camps four thatched bamboo and grass chalets are set in a beautifully shady grove of trees close to the banks of the Luwi Sand river. The rooms, which are built each season using natural materials, melt into the bush and are simple yet extremely comfortable with en-suite bathrooms and hot showers. With the emphasis on the use of natural materials in its construction, this camp is one of the most traditional Luangwa safari camps which still offers high levels of comfort and service. The rooms are generally spacious, each containing two three-quarter or one king-sized bed. There is wardrobe and shelvinggstorage in the rooms. The private open-air en-suite bathrooms have plenty of hot water, towels and toiletries. After dark, a member of staff will accompany you to and from your room, lighting the way and watching out for local wildlife.Daytime meals are served in the shade of the mahogany trees, and dinner is taken under the stars accompanied by the many sounds of the Zambian night.Luwi was one of the South Luangwa National Parks first remote safari camps. The camp barely has an impact on the environment being built with natural materials and dismantled at the end of each season. The camp has a selection of reference books to which you may refer to investigate the days sightings or to find out more about the history and geography of the area.
