If you’re looking for an off-grid adventure in Peru, the Amazon Rainforest can be a thrilling addition to any journey. Staying at a lodge on the banks of the river or sailing on a luxury riverboat gives you an immersive experience of the Amazon alongside excellent and passionate guides. There is no right or wrong time to visit as it can rain in short sharp bursts at any time but rarely for longer than an hour or two. Between June and November, the low water season is warmer, and animals such as pink dolphins are more prolific with less space to spread out. The high water season lasts from December to May, with more opportunities to navigate deeper into the jungle on canoes.
