The Lodge plays a vital role in safeguarding the area’s rich biodiversity and contributes to the conservation of the Cristalino RPPN (Private National Heritage Reserve), which captures carbon from the atmosphere and helps generate the moisture-filled “flying rivers.”
The lodge is committed to sustainable architecture, and minimal environmental impact – “The preservation of a large area of primary forest has been made possible by the Lodge’s mission and responsible tourism practice.”
The Amazon is a tropical region straddling the equator, classified as a tropical rainforest. The climate here is warm, with temperatures ranging from a high of 36°C to a low of 15°C. There are two distinct seasons: the dry season, from June to November, and the green season, from December to May. Both seasons offer unique experiences, making any time of year ideal for visiting the Amazon.
During the dry season, the Cristalino River reaches its lowest level in September, exposing rocks and creating many rapids. This period is perfect for spotting large mammals and various birds species. In contrast, the green season sees the forest become more humid, with the river rising to its highest level in March, covering the rocks and flowing gently.
