Example Itinerary

Day 1-2

ANCHORAGE, Alaska

  • Enjoy gorgeous lake and mountain views from downtown Anchorage
  • Hop on a floatplane to get perspective on the city and its surroundings

Land in Anchorage and relax for the night in lakeside splendour before dipping into Alaska’s adventure activities.

Upon arrival into Anchorage Airport, your guide will pick you up for a ten minute transfer to your accommodations. Relax at the only lakeside hotel in Anchorage, watching float planes against the majestic Chugach Mountains. Stay on the shore of Lake Spenard, next to Lake Hood, one mile from Ted Stevens International Airport and just four miles from downtown Anchorage. Flightseeing operators and fishing guides pick up daily at the hotel’s own dock, offering an easy way to partake in Alaska’s exciting activities. Check in, enjoy charming hospitality, and unwind in well-appointed lodge-like guest rooms.

Day 2-5

KENAI PENINSULA, Alaska

  • Kayak with whales and sea lions with a backdrop of snowcapped mountains
  • Hike through lush forest to a waterfall, spotting eagles and black bears feeding on salmon

Experience the rugged beauty of Alaskan coastal life at a simple but stylish yurt camp perched over the ocean, reachable only by seaplane.

After lunch, board a private seaplane for a one-hour flight to Orca Island Cabins. These Alaska yurt cabins are set in a protected cove and offer a wonderful way to experience Alaska’s scenic beauty and marine life in a comfortable but environmentally-sensitive manner – glamorous camping at its best! A private, expert outdoors guide will fly in with you to lead all excursions and cook delicious, fresh meals for the stay. Glide on standup paddle boards through serene Humpy Cove to see harbour seals, porpoises, river and sea otters frolicking along the majestic rocky coastline. Enjoy a privately-guided kayak excursion to see thousands of pink salmon, Steller sea lions, Humpback and the occasional Orca whale against the backdrop of snowcapped mountains. Later hike the historic WW II Jeep trail through lush forest for expansive views across the bay, or trek to a beautiful waterfall and elevated pond, spotting bald eagles and black bears along the way. Enjoy a private cruise into Resurrection Bay to see some of the most breathtaking coastal seascapes in south central Alaska. Then charter a boat for a day of deep-sea fishing in Seward’s most prolific Halibut fishing grounds, visiting picturesque villages up and down the coast.

Day 5-9

DENALI NATIONAL PARK, Alaska

  • Experience Denali National Park by air in private seaplane and helicopter flights, landing on a glacier for a picnic or at a secluded lake for a swim
  • Hike through alpine meadows to thundering waterfalls with a wildlife expert to point out the Denali “Big Five” of grizzly bears, moose, caribou, wolves and big-horned Dall sheep.

Lake Chelatna Lodge is a rustic but plush base just outside of Denali National Park, the perfect retreat after long, adventurous days traversing Alaska’s wilderness.

After breakfast and a leisurely morning at Orca Island, board a private seaplane for a beautiful two-hour flight inland and north to Denali National Park. Stay just outside of the park at Chelatna Lake Lodge, a luxurious fly-in lodge set alone in blissful seclusion on eight-mile Lake Chelatna. Cross over the Alaska Range on a private seaplane tour and witness the arctic alpine tundra of the north side of Denali National Park’s remote interior, follow the river systems of Talkeetna into an incredible landscape of icefalls, glaciers and snowy peaks, and behold the many faces of North America’s tallest mountain. Land on a glacier in the park to get a closeup look at the beautiful landscape. After your flight, warm up in the wood-fueled sauna and maybe take a dip in the glacial-fed lake. Explore the lake’s shoreline by boat to see grizzly and black bears, moose, beaver, river otters, coyotes, and for the lucky, an elusive wolf or wolverine. Enjoy paddle boarding on the lake or hike into Denali Park with a wildlife expert, through alpine meadows exploding with wildflowers, along meandering streambeds with cascading waterfalls, and past towering rock faces that herald the beginning of the Alaska Range. Experience DNP by air in a helicopter to access Alaska’s most remote lakes and mountains, landing by whim at secluded picnic spots and fishing holes. On your last morning, transfer by one-hour scenic seaplane flight back to Anchorage for your homebound flight.
