Four Seasons St Petersburg
St Petersburg, Russia
Why we love it
There is no chance of missing the grandeur and opulence of the Four Seasons St Petersburg, with its white columns, imperial yellow walls, sweeping staircases and restored marble lions that guard the front entrance. Once the former aristocratic mansion of Prince Alexey Lobanov-Rostovsky, the Four Seasons St Petersburg is situated right behind St Isaacâs Square, a short walk away from major landmarks including the State Hermitage, Mariinsky Theatre, Kazan Cathedral and Mikhailovsky Castle.
Rooms are fitted out in homage to their original 19th Century stylings, with high ceilings, terraces and marble walled bathrooms, but with all the luxury amenities you could desire, including a 42 inch plasma screen television. The two on site
restaurants are renowned for their culinary delights and cool atmosphere, with dishes ranging from zingy and fresh Asian delights to the comfort and richness of Italian cuisine.
As expected from a Four Seasons establishment, service is impeccable, with uniformed, multilingual reception staff catering to every possible need both inside and outside the hotel. One of the unmissable highlights of the hotel is the award winning four level Luceo Spa built into one of the courtyards. With its glass roofed relaxation pool, steam rooms, eight treatment rooms and 24 hour fitness centre, the Spa will ensure that you will end your visit feeling totally restored.
Head to the top floor of the spa centre for a skylit swim under the swimming pool's gigantic crystal chandeliers and expanse of sky.
Sip champagne in the couples' spa lounge post treatment, complete with its own changing rooms and showers for complete privacy.
Wander through the Hermitage Museum and its masterpieces when it is closed off to the general public and have the famous Peacock Clock wound just for you.
Cruise down St. Petersburg's canals in a privately chauffeured boat, accompanied with champagne and canapés prepared by the executive chef.
Watch as the ballet dancers rehearse and prepare for their performance and walk on the famous Mikhailovsky stage before settling in to watch the show.
Learn from a master maker how to paint your own wooden Russian doll whilst you are taught about the iconic Matreshka's history and tales.
