This experience is all about exploring the countryside and wild areas close to your own home, discovering the wild foods and ingredients growing nearby. Start the day with a morning cup of forager’s coffee (made with dandelion roots) and learn the basics of foraging with a leading expert. Head out into the woods and hedgerows – either a site they visit regularly or a spot that you really enjoy visiting and want to explore in a new way.
During the experience, your professional forager will introduce you to a number of edible species, giving you tips on harvesting, correct identification and possible look-alikes to watch out for. You will have an opportunity to taste a huge range of pre-made wild food tasters, from pickles to jams, chutneys, syrups, flavoured salts and alcohol infusions. After your foraging walk, get involved and cook up a 2-course lunch utilising wild and foraged ingredients picked on the day – and some bits prepared by the foraging team – cooked over an open fire.
Price per private group: £650
