Experience the excitement of a Swedish Lapland expedition, discovering a polar landscape through a spectrum of winter activities, all while staying in a specially crafted ‘ice hotel’ for a fully immersive winter wonderland adventure.
Day 1 - 3: Harads, Sweden
Day 3 - 4: Gällivare, Sweden
Day 4 - 5: Jukkasjärvi, Sweden
Day 6 - 8: Kiruna, Sweden
Located south of the Arctic Circle, live high up amongst the trees to observe Northern Sweden’s spectacular landscape.
Your first stop on your tour of Swedish Lapland will be in Harads, where you’ll spend two nights at the Treehotel. An architectural masterpiece of a hotel, the rooms on offer range from the UFO, Bird Nest, a Mirrorcube and a Blue Cone (really it is red). Bring your taste for adventure for a snowmobile safari where you’ll explore the peaceful winter landscape at speed. Alternatively, hike the steep cliffs to spot wild moose and reindeer with snow shoes strapped to your feet. In the evening, dine in a heated tipi on an ice-covered lake, with reindeer-skin blankets to keep you warm.
Camp in a military lavu tent in a World Heritage Site, inspired by Sámi culture and finished with luxurious details.
Transfer to Sápmi Nature Camp, where you’ll spend the night in a heated tipi in a forest full of wild reindeer. Learn about Sámi culture by meeting with reindeer herders, many whose families have been involved in herding for generations and the fight to ensure Swedish Lapland remains untouched. Live like a local by spending the evening gathered around the campfire with Sámi hosts. Be sure to fill up your water bottle from the water hole in the ice for the freshest water you’ve ever tasted.
Sleep inside a temporary art installation with a night in the Icehotel, an impressive creation that is knocked down and rebuilt differently every year.
Your next stop will be the world-famous Icehotel for a chilly night’s stay in one of the hotel’s cold rooms. For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, sleep on a bed made of ice with a reindeer hide to keep you warm at night. Enjoy rising to a delicious cup of hot lingonberry juice and warming up in the sauna before starting the day! Firstly, we can arrange for you to go husky sledding through the snowy woodlands to the sound of thudding paws. For those with a creative streak, upgrade to an ice sculpting class where you’ll create your own masterpiece from a block of ice.
Situated in the far north of Swedish Lapland, enjoy your own private hideaway in Lapland, complete with a personal Sámi chef to truly experience local Swedish life.
Continue to Kiruna where you’ll enjoy exclusive use of Fjellborg Arctic Lodge for three nights. Uncover the Arctic forest whilst directing your own husky sled across the frozen tundra before warming up around a campfire with a Sámi family. Similarly, jump on a snowmobile excursion to a wilderness camp where you’ll enjoy a wholesome lunch around a roaring fire. The following day, put on your snowshoes and venture into the wilderness to try ice fishing for perch. Upon returning to the lodge, feast on your delicious catch over supper which the chef will cook with freshly foraged mushrooms and berries.
