Kempinski
Moscow, Russia
Why we love it
Baltschug Kemplinski opened its doors in 1992, becoming one of Moscowâs first luxury hotels. The elephant 19th century building that the hotel resides in was once a favoured spot of Russiaâs most famous and credited artists. Set just back from the Moskva River and overlooking both the Kremlin and St Basils Cathedral, Baltschug Kemplinski has a location that is second to none.
Newly renovated, the hotel has 227 elegant rooms and suites with contemporary décor and all the amenities you can desire. Unwind and relax at the onsite spa and health club, then soak up the glistening views of the city whilst dining at the refined Café Kranzler.
Rest your feet after a day of sightseeing by visiting the health club, where you can swim in the pool, or take a soak in the whirlpool baths.
Catch a performance at the iconic Bolshoi Theatre, home to two of the oldest ballet and opera companies in the world, for a true Moscow experience.
Head to the Eastern side of the Red Square to see the crown jewel of the Russian Orthodox church and its newly restored dome.
Sample true Russian dumplings, meat pies and vodka at this wonderfully unique café, complete with its own faux 19th century townhouse facade and library interior.
Enjoy a traditional English high tea with a Baltschug twist, including Russian caviar and Russian smoked salmon amongst other delights.
