Ett Hem

Stockholm

Ett Hem was originally built in 1910 as a private residence. It was later converted into the wonderful boutique hotel that is so well loved by the guests who have stayed here, they return year after year. The hotel has 12 rooms and each room has its own special style. The success in intricately transforming the house into a hotel, whilst still retaining the individuality and personality of the original, is a testament to the tenaciousness of interior designer Ilse Crawford. Outdoors, the courtyard garden is a secret city wilderness that is the perfect place for summer breakfasts or winding down in the evening over a chilled bottle of wine. They have a well thought out menu of delicious food using local produce, which can be served at a time of your choice and wherever you prefer. Eat in the kitchen or a bit of formality in the library, or look out at the garden from the Greenhouse, a great place for breakfast. Ett Hem is not your usual hotel. Ett hem is a place where guests are treated as friends of the family, a place that allows guests to become part of it and feel at home.

Reasons we love Ett Hem

  • Red brick townhouse in Stockholm’s upmarket Larkstaden neighbourhood
  • Ett Hem is a very accurate moniker: it simply means ‘a home’ in Swedish which is how the house is run
  • Owner Jeanette worked hand in hand with Ilse Crawford – the design queen of Soho House fame – to create the magazine-worthy interiors.
