The Caribbean Coast and Belize Cayes

Belize

The Belize Barrier Reef is the largest in the world after The Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Over 400 cayes and atolls line Belize’s Caribbean coast. The largest is Ambergris Caye accessed from the colourful little town of San Pedro, once a sleepy fishing village. Famous dive sites in Belize such as The Great Blue Hole, Shark Ray Alley, and Caye Caulker Giant Cave entice many a deep-sea diver to marvel at the underwater world of this vast reef. Those who aren’t keen to dive can take a fly-over option for a spectacular birds-eye view of the Great Blue Hole from the air. In April and May, there is a good chance of swimming or diving with Whale Sharks. With its colourful Caribbean influence, the coast of Belize is a perfect destination for a vibrant beach holiday.
