Join a unique and sustainable beekeeping practice, at a beautiful Victorian sugar warehouse on one of London’s most vibrant streets, for a masterclass on urban beekeeping. As specialist artisan honey producers, this beekeeper and honey sommelier duo at Bermondsey Street Bees have won many awards, including 2016’s ‘UK Small Artisan Producer of The Year’ – food’s equivalent of an Oscar.

Head to Bermondsey for exclusive access with a behind the scenes private tour of this honey production space in the heart of London. You’ll be treated to an introduction to sustainable urban beekeeping and visit their award-winning rooftop hives, in the unlikely location in central London, overlooking the Shard. Next you will have an opportunity to get hands-on with the bees whilst wearing protective bee suits (of course!). After your tour, enjoy a guided honey tasting from the unique perspective of a honey sommelier, tasting and learning stories behind rare honey from all over the world.

For the chance to get more immersed, we recommend including a honey spinning demonstration to filter your own honey, filling your own pot of freshly-spun honey to take home. Not only will you leave with a pot of raw London honey, but also a guide to planting for honeybees, in case you too want to become a beekeeper and develop your apiculturist skills further.

This experience takes places both indoors and outside. Every hygienic precaution will be taken in advance of your visit and the staff will be wearing masks and gloves (and sometimes suits!) throughout.
