Example Itinerary

Day 1-6

Queensland, Australia

  • Spot koalas asleep in the trees on a walk through Queensland’s rainforests
  • Reward yourself with a glass of champagne after your walk each day

Explore Queensland’s high country on a five day walk through the lush rainforests, staying at a different property each night.

Head out into Queensland’s outback, only one hour from Brisbane, to embark on Spicers Rim five day walking trail for a luxurious escape into nature. Spend your days ascending dramatic peaks and ridges through protected areas of natural beauty and dense rainforest, and end each walk with a glass of champagne, a hot shower, and a delicious meal prepared by your own chef. When the time comes to go to bed, experience something new every night – from sleeping in a wooden cabin to a mountain farmhouse.

Day 6-9

Mount Mulligan, Australia

  • See the abandoned remnants of Mount Mulligan’s township by visiting the old cemetery and coal mine
  • Spot indigenous wildlife such as wallabies on a hike around the foothills of the mountain

Stay in a spacious retreat in Queensland’s outback to experience small town life during Australia’s gold rush.

Fly from Brisbane to Cairns, to be transferred to Mount Mulligan Lodge to explore the outback wilderness of remote northern Queensland. The lodge, set in a ghost town, serves as the perfect base to explore the indigenous landscape dating back 37,000 years and provides guests with an authentic taste of pastoral life. Take a trip back to discover the workings of the old township by visiting the cemetery, coal mine, and gold mine. Spend the rest of your time enjoying the natural beauty Mount Mulligan: wildlife spot for wallabies and rainbow lorikeets; stargaze up into the dark southern skies; or hike around the foot of Mount Mulligan in true peace and quiet.

Day 9-13

Great Barrier Reef, Australia

  • Spot the 1,500 species of fish that call the Great Barrier Reef home on a snorkelling trip
  • Explore further out into the waters around Lizard Island on a self-guided paddle board trip

Stay in the middle of the bright blue lagoon surrounded by the world’s most exciting marine life.

Catch a morning flight from Cairns to Lizard Island to end your trip in the paradise world of the Great Barrier Reef, catching spectacular views of the turquoise waters as you fly in over the northern barrier reef. Centre your stay around discovering this underwater natural wonder by navigating the waters of the island in complete serenity to discover untouched stretches of beach. Hop in a glass-bottomed sea kayak to paddle around and get up close to marine life without getting wet. Take a peek into the colourful underwater world below the surface by snorkelling and see how many of the 1,500 species of fish you can spot.

Jade & Andy

Our daughter is at university in Melbourne for a year so we wanted to visit her. We haven’t really thought about visiting Australia before but we’re so glad we had a reason to travel all that way. Three weeks seems like such a long time away, but we packed it full of so many amazing experiences that it went by before we knew it. Now we’re hooked and planning our next trip as want to visit the Outback with her while she’s still Down Under!
