Your adventure begins in Melbourne, a vibrant city blending culture and charm.

Stay at Park Hyatt Melbourne and explore Federation Square and Queen Victoria Market. Embark on a memorable journey along the Great Ocean Road, witnessing stunning coastal landscapes and the majestic Twelve Apostles.

Days 4-7

Blue Mountains, Australia

  • Immerse yourself in the wilderness of the Australian bush with tree planting, habitat restoration and water-testing
  • Lace up your riding boots for a private horse-riding adventure through the mountains, taking you away from the beaten path

From Melbourne, travel to the soaring sandstone formations of the Blue Mountains, where you will stay at the Chalets at Blackheath. Situated in the heart of the UNESCO National Park, step out of your front door and into a world of eucalyptus trees, ancient aboriginal sites and wild Australian bush.

The stretching beauty of the Blue Mountains is a true gem in the Australian wilderness and Chalets at Blackheath is the place to stay. Perched above one million hectares of breathtaking landscapes, experience the wonders of the valley with guided nature walks, horseback riding and wildlife safaris. Give back and get your hands dirty with tree-planting, habitat restoration and water-testing.

Days 7-10

Sydney, Australia

  • Take a private tour of the city alongside a leading local guide to showcase Syndey’s best kept secrets, from hidden vintage boutiques to fresh seafood eateries
  • Board a private cruise through Sydney Harbour, flanked by the Harbour Bridge, before disembarking at a hidden beach for lunch with your feet in the sand

Leaving the mountains behind for the bright lights of the harbour city, enjoy the excited buzz of restaurants overlooking Sydney Opera House, surfers lining the shores of Bondi Beach and buskers singing melodies on street corners.

Australia’s iconic harbour city of Sydney is a playground for all and The Langham is perfectly located to dive into the dynamic atmosphere. With your private local guide you’ll visit trendy neighbourhoods, sample delicious cuisine and catch a wave or two.

Board a luxury motor 48’ cruiser Iluka to spend 3 to 3.5 hours immersing yourself in Sydney’s renowned sights. You will pass within meters of the Sydney Opera House with views back to the Harbour Bridge and up to the Eastern Suburbs before heading east to a quiet picturesque bay for a gourmet lunch.

Days 10-12

Waiheke Island, New Zealand

  • Take a private tour of a local vineyard with a wine-tasting to indulge your tastebuds
  • Wander through boutique art galleries, swim in azure waters and revel in the leisurely joys of island-life

From Australia to New Zealand, your first few days here can be spent on what is known as the ‘island of wine’. Dotted with vineyards and local wineries, break up your wine-tastings with the other delights the island has to offer.

To kick off the New Zealand section of your adventure we have chosen The Boatshed on Waiheke Island, a scenic paradise just a short ferry ride from Auckland. Explore the island’s stunning beaches, vineyards, and art galleries. Indulge in gourmet food and fine wines, and take leisurely walks to appreciate the island’s natural beauty at a slower pace.

Days 12-15

Rotorua, New Zealand

  • Immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of the region alongside a private Maori guide
  • Wander among the world-famous, and equally enchanting, movie set of Hobbiton

Fly south to experience Rotorua’s cultural richness at Solitaire Lodge. Set on the shores of the North Island, this lakeside town is famed for its thriving biodiversity, from freshwater lakes to green mountains, and being the heartland of the native Maori people.

Witness the mesmerising geothermal wonders on an evening tour of Te Puia and immerse yourselves in the region’s vibrant heritage with a Maori guide to learn about their history and customs. Enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of Lake Tarawera on a fishing expedition; and marvel at the less natural world-famous movie set of Hobbiton.

Days 15-17

Auckland, New Zealand

  • Paddle-board through the harbours of Auckland
  • Cycle along waterfront paths and hike trails in the marvellous Waitakere Ranges

Based around two large harbours, Auckland is a hub of New Zealand’s food, wine, music, art and culture. Explore the city by land or sea and raise a glass to a magical adventure through the best of Australia and New Zealand.

The final stop of your family holiday is at the Park Hyatt in the cosmopolitan city of Auckland. With energy to spare, head out on the water to kayak or paddleboard. Cycle along waterfront paths, visit the hiking trails in Waitakere Ranges, and make the most of your time together at beautiful beaches.

Incredibly helpful and professional

True Travel were amazing at assisting me with my trip to New Zealand, with advice on travelling around and what best bits to see in the short time we had. They also found an amazing fly fishing guide on the Tongariro river for my husband and the lodge we stayed at was fantastic – right on the river with spectacular views!
