Why we love it
Wa Ale Beach Resort, set to open in May 2018 (soft launch) is to be the first luxury resort in Myanmar’s Myeik Archipelago, off the western shores of Southern Myanmar. Wa Ale is one of a group of 800 islands in the Andaman Sea. The Myeik Archipelago has been virtually inaccessible to tourists, due to its remote location and lack of facilities. Wa Ale allows travellers to access one of the most unspoilt areas in the world for the very first time. Wa Ale is a thoughtfully planned conservation resort. It invites guests to experience the natural beauty of Myeik in a luxury camp that encourages responsible and sustainable care for the environment.
Accommodation consists of 11 tented beach villas and 3 treetop villas, designed to blend into the lush tropical beach environment. Each beautiful family sized beach villa can accommodate up to 4 guests and the intimate treetop villas can accommodate 2. The restaurant serves fresh produce from the island or local farms and only sustainably sourced seafood from the archipelago.
Wa Ale is the perfect place from which to explore the exciting aquatic and jungle habitats. Activities include snorkeling, diving, kayaking, paddle boarding and jungle treks.
Eat clean with the resort's approach to dining, with only the freshest produce harvested straight from local farms and seafood caught in the archipelago.
Take a peek into the archipelago's abundance of reefs to see the incredible variety of colourful fish, from angelfish to barracuda.
Live like a fish as you swim amongst whale sharks, devil manta rays, dugong, and more on a dive deep into the blue of the Andaman Sea.
Hop in a kayak or on a paddle board to explore the pristine turquoise river, hidden mangroves and secluded caves of Wa Ale.
Look out over the beach and crashing waves from the yoga pavilion at one of the resort's daily yoga sessions - good for the mind and body.
Enjoy the relaxing benefits of a massage without even leaving your room with the resort's private masseuse, as you listen to the soundtrack of nature.
Get up close to some of Wa Ale's most precious wildlife as you explore the national park - by canoe, water or on foot.

I am writing to thank you for arranging a most wonderful trip to Burma in January. Every part of it was perfect. The guides were excellent and they had different strengths. We enjoyed driving instead of flying from Bagan to Mandalay (we decided to change that en route and it was fine) as it exposed us to a bit more of the country. We loved the ballooning of course and washing Buddha’s face and the hotels. And the lacquer showroom and factory. In fact, everything. You did a fabulous job. Thanks so much; all three of us had a trip to remember and learned so much.
